Preformed hoses manufactured from ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) are resistant to aqueous media and are therefore often used to carry coolant water. This versatile material is also notable for its high resistance to ageing, weathering and ozone.
Nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) is a synthetic rubber with high resistance to chemicals and abrasion. Preformed hoses in NBR are resistant to alcohols, oils, fats and dilute acids and alkalis.
Styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) is even more resistant than NBR to abrasion. The material can withstand cold temperatures and is fireproof. SBR is therefore excellently suitable for motor vehicle hydraulics or for electrical insulation.
Preformed hoses manufactured from epichlorohydrin rubber (ECO) are ideal for applications demanding excellent resistance to mineral oils and very good weather resistance at the same time. They can withstand temperatures of -40 °C to +120 °C.
