Sponsoring Deefholt Dynamics: Together for horsepower & safety

Once again this year, and for the twelfth time, HANSA‑FLEX is supporting the Deefholt Dynamics e.V. association of the Private University of Applied Sciences for Economics and Technology (PHWT) in Diepholz, Lower Saxony, in the ‘Formula Student’ project, the international student competition in which over 800 universities and colleges take part.

This year, the team of 54 students once again received the sum of 5,000 euros for the development, design and production of the fully-fledged electric racing car (DD24e). ‘Milestones achieved this year included reducing the weight of the monocoque from 28.1 to 20.7 kg, a new aero concept with a 38% increase in downforce to 725 N and an optimised gearbox design with a 53% weight saving,’ reports Jona Gostkowski, dual student at HANSA‑FLEX and member of the chassis/monocoque assembly group. ‘This means that the main objectives of reducing weight, increasing torque and optimising handling are being implemented with determination,’ says Jona.

From the end of July, the teams will head to the race events at the Red Bull Ring (Austria), ZalaZONE (Hungary) and Hockenheimring (Germany). There, the teams will compete against each other with their cars from all over Europe and the PHTW racing car will be put through its paces by qualified testers. We keep our fingers crossed and say: Good luck! Go Deefholts!
